About this file
This is a Department of the Air Force memorandum from Headquarters Air Mobility Command (AMC/358) to 6 Operational Group Squadron (6 OGS) dated 19 March 2026, regarding KC-135 SOAR communication equipment requirements.
The memorandum establishes that the PUMA DART Roll-on/Roll-off communications kit is a critical requirement for enabling the KC-135 SOAR (Special Operations and Reconnaissance) mission. The 6 OGS requires PUMA DART kits to support AMC's objective of standing up the SOAR mission capability for the 6th Air Wing (6 ARW). The absence of this kit would create severe mission risk. The mission will be maintained under 6 ARW for the foreseeable future to accommodate the conversion of multiple units to the KC-46 Tanker Transport Aircraft. Points of contact for questions regarding this requirement are located at HQAMC/A358, though specific contact information is redacted in the document.
