About this file
This document is a USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) solicitation for multiple Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) across six different specifications. The agency is seeking six different UTV models with passenger capacities ranging from 3 to 6, all requiring specific technical specifications such as 999 cc or greater gasoline motors, shaft-driven automatic transmission, 4WD or AWD, and certified Roll Over Protection Structure (ROPS). Each vehicle must meet ANSI/OPEI B71.9-2016 and ANSI/ROHVA 1-2016 standards, with additional mandatory requirements including payload capacity of 1600 lbs or greater, cargo storage bed of 1000 lbs or greater, and liquid cooling.
The solicitation includes trade-in options for existing vehicles and specific delivery locations across different National Forest districts in North Carolina, including Croatan, National Forest in North Carolina, Tusquitee, and Grandfather Ranger Districts. Each UTV configuration includes additional optional equipment such as hard poly roofs, full windshields, protective metal screens, winches (4500-5000 lb capacity), heavy-duty front and rear bumpers, skid plates, and shock absorbers. Vehicles must be in red or other high-visibility colors approved by the Forest Service Point of Contact (POC), with delivery requirements within 80 miles of specified locations and contact information provided for each district.
