1.0 PROJECT TITLE
BDOC Controller Desks and Support Equipment Procurement for the 179th Security Forces Squadron
(179 SFS).
2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and installation services required to deliver and fully assemble:
• Two (2) L-shaped ergonomic Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC) Controller Desks
• Two (2) continuous-use 24/7 tactical chairs
• One (1) heavy-duty industrial shelving unit for the 179 SFS
The primary objective of this procurement is to modernize the BDOC workspace with ergonomic, multi-monitor capable workstations, provide high-durability seating for continuous-shift personnel, and optimize storage within the 179 SFS armory to eliminate wasted space.
3.0 SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS & TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Item 1: BDOC Ergonomic Desks (Quantity: 2) The workstations must support high-intensity, multi-monitor security operations and meet the following minimum specifications:
• Configuration: L-shaped ergonomic corner workstation designed specifically for 24/7 intensive operations.
• Work Surfaces: Bi-level, independently adjustable surfaces. The front keyboard/mouse area and the rear monitor area must raise or lower separately via an integrated electric controller.
• Monitor Mounting: Structurally integrated heavy-duty monitor mounting system (e.g., poles or towers) capable of supporting a minimum of six (6) monitors in a 3x2 array. Each monitor arm must offer full articulation (tilt, swivel, and 360-degree rotation).
• Cable Management: Built-in, fully enclosed vertical and horizontal cable management channels and grommets to run all computer, power, and utility wiring safely and discreetly.
• Under-Desk CPU Holder: A secure CPU holder that attaches to the desk's underside and moves in sync with height adjustments to prevent cord strain.
• Power & Data Hub: Surface-mounted, easily accessible power and data hub providing a minimum of four (4) standard outlets.
• Finish: Primary work surfaces must be finished with a highly durable protective layer and feature rounded bumper molding to prevent wear and tear.
Item 2: 24/7 Continuous-Use Chairs (Quantity: 2) The seating must be engineered for continuous, multi-shift tactical environments and meet the following specifications:
• Rating & Warranty: Officially rated and fully warrantied for 24/7, multi-shift, continuous use.
• Structural Frame: All-steel internal structural frame with no plastic or wood structural components.
• Base & Lift: High-stability, wide five-point metal base (polished aluminum or steel) paired with a top-grade, heavy-duty pneumatic gas cylinder.
• Height Adjustment: Extended range height adjustment with a minimum seat height of approximately 22 inches and a maximum height of at least 28 inches.
• Controls: Multi-function tilt mechanism allowing users to independently adjust and lock the seat pan and backrest angles.
• Armrests: Fully adjustable (height, width, depth, and pivot) “flip-up” style armrests that can fold back vertically to clear duty belts and gear.
• Headrest: Fully articulating, adjustable headrest for neck and head support.
• Foot Rest: Integrated durable steel foot ring.
• Cushioning: High-resilience, high-density molded foam designed to resist compression and maintain support over multi-year cycles.
• Upholstery: Extreme-durability commercial-grade synthetic leather with an anti-microbial finish, high abrasion resistance, and double-stitched reinforced seams.
Item 3: Heavy-Duty Armory Shelving (Quantity: 1) The shelving unit is intended to optimize and organize storage space in the 179 SFS armory:
• Dimensions: 34 to 38 inches in height, 38 to 40 inches in width, and 30 to 36 inches in depth.
• Construction: 14-gauge heavy-duty steel frame with rolled steel vertical posts and double-rivet horizontal beams.
• Assembly: Boltless “rivet-lock” design for tool-free assembly.
• Tiers: Three (3) individual tiers, adjustable in 1.5-inch increments.
• Decking & Support: Shelves decked with 5/8-inch to 1-inch thick industrial-grade particle board, reinforced by a center steel support channel to prevent sagging under load.
• Load Capacity: Each individual shelf must support a minimum distributed load of 1,500 lbs, yielding a total minimum unit capacity of 4,500 lbs.
• Finish: Rust- and scratch-resistant powder coat in an all-black finish.
