Statement of Work (SOW) Electro/Optical (EO/IR) Infrared Sensor Systems Modernization (ESS-M)

70Z03824RE0000001

For the Electro/Optical (EO/IR) Infrared Sensor Systems

Modernization (ESS-M)

Prepared by:

United States Coast Guard (USCG), Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) Engineering Services Division (ESD) 1664 Weeksville Road, Building 78

Elizabeth City, NC 27909

1.0 General

1.1 Background

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) operates, manages, and administers 149 Electro-Optical Infra-red (EO/IR) Sensor Systems (ESS) to include four (4) spare Turret Sensor Unit (TSU) in support of USCG rotary-wing missions for the MH-65 and MH-60 helicopters. The last date to receive ESS system repair or technical support services is December 31, 2024. In an effort to reduce fleet wide availability gaps, reduce cost, and extend repairs, the USCG pursued a Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) to modernize the existing ESS’s and provide advanced EO/IR capabilities to the mid 2030’s. The development effort of the modernized ESS was executed under contract 70Z03822DE0000002.

1.2 Scope

The contractor shall provide EO/IR Sensor Systems (ESS-M) systems for modernizing the USCG Rotary Wing fleet with the ESS-M System Package part number 23854-222. The ESS-M shall consist of a Turret Sensor Unit (TSU), Computer Electronics Unit (CEU), Display Unit (DU), Remote Control Unit (RCU) as listed in table 1.1.
