Project HTNF SO Grounds Maintenance
General Information
1.0 Scope of Work
Grounds maintenance for the landscaping and lawns at the Supervisor’s Office for the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Work includes, but is not limited to, two annual cleanups, commissioning and winterizing sprinkler system, maintaining the sprinkler system during operational months, shrub maintenance, lawn trimming, lawn edging, weeding, weed treatment, fertilizing, thatching, and aerating of lawn.
Contractor Requirements
3.0 Technical Requirements / Tasks
Contractor shall provide all tools, equipment, materials, and labor to perform the work described above and in the Schedule of Items.
The majority of the work shall be performed between the months of May and October, however some work must also be performed in all four seasons throughout the year.
Contractor may only use fertilizer, weed treatment, and pre-emergent treatment after receiving written approval from the government for each product.
Weeds (including Lamb’s Ear and Dandilions) shall not be present in more than 1% of the lawn area.
Grass shall not be present in more than 5% of the rock landscaping from May 1 to October 30.
Unpruned branches shall not extend greater than 6” beyond the primary form of any shrub. (This does not apply to trees, the government will maintain responsibility for all tree maintenance, but the contractor shall take care not to cause damage to any existing trees.)
4.0 Government Furnished
There is an existing sprinkler system. The government shall be responsible for major repairs exceeding $150 in a given month. No other government furnished materials shall be provided.
5.0 Deliverables / Schedule
All written deliverables shall be phrased in layperson language.
• Herbicides and Fertilizers: Submit name and ingredients of any chemical treatments to the government no less than one week prior to treating lawn, weeds, or other.

7.0 Contractor’s Key Personnel
The contractor shall provide a resume for work leaders/foreman. If multiple foremen are required each for a different scope of work, successful offeror must provide resumes for each of the foremen and the scope(s) for which they will be responsible. Contractor may not substitute any key personnel for 90 days after contract award.
8.0 Security Requirements
Contractor must only access our property to clear debris near two back entrances. This work shall be performed during normal business hours (0800-1630 Monday through Friday, and not on Federal Holidays). The government will permit access to our gate as needed.
9.0 Data Rights
