Statement of Work

Water Quality Equipment Repair Services

Background

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Water Mission Area (WMA), Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility (HIF) has a requirement for hydrologic equipment maintenance/repair/recalibration services, specifically for water quality multiparameter sondes, sensors, cables, and support equipment.

The HIF conducts a nationwide equipment rental and repair program in support of WMA data collection activities. A significant portion of the equipment in the rental/repair program includes various water quality instruments and support accessories. When rental units are returned from the field after use, they must be inspected, checked, and tested.

Frequently, the units also need repairs and calibration. While some repairs can be performed by the HIF repair shop, it is often necessary to send the units back to the manufacturer for certain proprietary operations including component replacements and sensor re-calibrations.

As a service, HIF also assists Water Science Center (WSC) customers with their equipment maintenance and repairs needs. Repair work is often needed after the equipment warranty period has expired, and the work required is beyond the capabilities of HIF.

Therefore, HIF needs to establish a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) vehicle for the recurring purchases of water quality instrumentation and related on-going equipment repairs and maintenance.
