The door clear opening must be at least 36" wide to accommodate wheelchair accessibility and mobility devices, with a low profile floor standard of 1 5/16".

The acoustic performance must meet ANSI S3.1 or ANSI S3.2 standards with minimum 60 dB noise reduction attenuation. The booth requires ADA compliance including level entry, non-skid thresholds, and sufficient interior turn radius. Technical requirements include interior lighting of minimum 400 lux (flicker-free), at least one duplex electrical outlet, cable pass-through ports, and a silent ventilation system for patient comfort. Materials must be durable, non-toxic, easy-to-clean, impervious to liquids and disinfectants, and fire-retardant. The contractor must provide onsite assembly and installation with mechanical and electrical hookup to VA infrastructure, initial ANSI S3.1 certification with written documentation of ambient noise compliance, onsite or virtual staff training, user manuals, and a minimum one-year manufacturer's warranty. The booth must interface with VA-provided audiometers and be modular or compact enough to fit through standard facility doors for on-site assembly.
