STATEMENT OF WORK

Building 8288 and Building 9361 D29

WT: 12262787

SECTION 1: PROJECT INFORMATION

1.1 PROJECT LOCATION: This project shall be completed as replacement and installation of two new high speed rubber doors at building 8288/9361 on Joint Base

Elmendorf-Richardson, AK. Project hours are standard work hours 0700-1600 not to include Federal holidays or weekends.

1.2 UNIQUE REQUIREMENT: Upon project completion, 773 CES must perform a site visit to ensure all work is fully complete and performed in an acceptable manor.

1.3 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The contractor shall provide material and services to include but not limited to the removal of the existing door set to include the locking mechanisms, ensuring not to damage the integrity of the existing wall structure on the interior or exterior of the facility. Replace the two existing rollup doors in Building 8288 with three CSI section 08 34 00

High Speed Doors, (1) 15’ wide x 14’ tall; and (1) 24’ wide x 20’ tall. Replace the three existing rollup doors in Building 9361 with three CSI section 08 34 00 High Speed Doors, (1) 15’ wide x 15’4” tall; (1) 20’ wide x 16’ tall and (1) 24’ wide x 20’ tall. Once doors are removed opening must be secured as to ensure the security of the facility at night. The contractor will be responsible for loading and transporting all debris generated from the removal of the doors and installation of the new doors to and from building 9361 and building 8288. They will p r o p e r l y dispose of the material in accordance with local laws and regulations.

SECTION 2: GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

2.1 WORKMANSHIP: All work shall be accomplished in accordance with all applicable building and fire codes. Contractor shall field verify all measurements, quantities, or value stated by the Government. Liquidated damages shall be assessed for work that is not finished within the scheduled performance period.

2.2 WORKSITE: The contractor shall limit the work to the areas indicated by the government.

The contractor shall make every effort not to disturb or obstruct portions of the facilities still occupied by the government. The contractor shall make efforts to minimize interference to Government operations. The contractor shall coordinate and schedule work with the project manager prior the start of any operation. The contractor shall dispose of all construction debris off base at an approved disposal facility. Advanced notification is needed to coordinate with the 673 Security Force Squadron, at BDOC, 907-552-8550 for outbound lane closures during the duration of repair. Special considerations may need to be made for closing inbound lanes barring any concerns for safety of vehicular/pedestrian traffic.

2.3 SITE SECURITY AND PROTECTION: The contractor shall make every effort to secure the work site, allowing only authorized personnel to enter the work site. The contractor shall protect the site from damage from weather, vandalism, and/or theft.

2.4 DAMAGE TO EXISTING SITE CONDITIONS: The contractor shall be responsible to repair all damage incurred to existing Real Property/Grounds due to poor workmanship at no cost to the government.

2.5 HEALTH/SAFETY: The contractor shall be responsible for compliance with the regulations of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Air Force Occupational and Environmental Safety, Fire

Protection and Health Program (AFOSH) Publication. The contractor shall always maintain a clean and debris free site. The contractor ensures a safe cordon around the work site area to mitigate any unauthorized travel underneath the canopy. The contractor shall minimize storage of materials and equipment on site.

2.6 WARRANTY: The contractor will provide one year warranty on parts and labor. The contractor will provide contact service information and warranty forms.

SECTION 3: DESCRIPTION OF WORK AND SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

3.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The existing doors shall be removed and disposed of by the contractor in accordance with applicable codes and requirements. The contractor shall provide all equipment and materials required for the completion of the installation of the new doors.

3.2 DOORS SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

3.2.1 CSI Section 08 34 00 High Speed Rubber Door (2) Doors Total, (1) 15’ wide x 14’ tall; and (1) 24’ wide x 20’ tall. CSI Section 08 34 00 High Speed Rubber Door (3) Doors Total, (1) 15' wide x 15'4” tall, (1) 20' wide x 16' tall, and (1) 24' wide x 20' tall

3.2.2 Curtain: Rubber and Black in color. Operation:

3.2.3 Variable Speed direct-drive AC motor with dynamic braking. Springless design with no counterbalance.

3.2.4 3 Phase power exist in current facility.

3.2.5 System 4 controller with self-diagnostic capabilities in NEMA 4X rated enclosure.

3.2.6 Release and restore technology after impact (no tools needed).

3.2.7 Actuators: (1) Remote open/close/stop push buttons.

3.2.8 Safety equipment; (2) Through beam photo eyes.

3.2.9 Chain hoist for manual operation.

3.2.10 Activation: (2) Motions sensors on west end and supply door.

3.2.11 Radio control: Receiver with (1) button transmitters inside dispatch office.

3.2.12 Windows: Clear windows 2 for each door.

SECTION 4: SPECIAL PROVISIONS/NOTES/SPECIFICATIONS

APPLICABLE CODES

All work in this contract shall be done in accordance with National Fire Protection Association

(NFPA), Uniform Building Code (UBC), OSHA-Occupational Safety and Health Act, EM 385-

1-1, US Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual, ANSI B 20.1 1992, 40 CFR EPA, Environmental Protection Agency, and all local safety, fire, and security regulations. This job requires that all personnel have appropriate, applicable, and current

Certificate of Fitness cards from Alaska Department of Labor. All codes listed here shall be the latest version and most recent or up-to-date publications in print.
