About this file
This is a Sources Sought Notice and response table for a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printer system. The Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces is conducting market research to identify capable sources, with particular interest in small businesses including 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), HubZone, and Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSB), that can provide an expeditionary, high-resolution, industrial-grade 3D printer. The equipment must be deployable to environmentally controlled locations and packagable within ISU-90 Storage Containers without exceeding weight or spatial limits. The NAICS code is 333248 (All Other Industrial Machinery Manufacturing) with a size standard of 750 employees, and the PSC is 3610 (Printing, Duplicating, and Bookbinding Equipment).
The response table specifies detailed hardware minimum specifications including 110-120V/50-60Hz power supply with maximum 20A draw, fully enclosed actively heated chamber, auto-changeover capability for model and support materials, layer thickness range specifications, and support for multiple filament types including ABS, ABS-CF, ASA, PC-ABS, Nylon CF, Mineral Nylon, and TPU. Additional requirements include licensed file processing software, vendor-provided warranty, full machine assembly and testing, operational training, and confirmation of initial consumable kits (basic and advanced material configurations with specified build sheets and extrusion print heads). Interested vendors must submit capability statements with corporate information, UEI and CAGE codes, business size classification, identification of available government contract vehicles (GSA MAS, NASA SEWP, DLA TLS), technical compliance matrix responses, and descriptions of experience providing technical support and consumables replenishment to expeditionary/remote locations with up to three examples of similar systems supplied within the past three years. Responses are due by September 4, 2026 at 1:00 PM AKDT/4:00 PM EST via email to Jarod L. Lemke (jarod.lemke.1@us.af.mil) or John F. Gosh, Jr. (john.gosh@us.af.mil), submitted in PDF, Microsoft Word, or Microsoft Excel format. This is market research only and does not constitute a commitment to issue a solicitation or award a contract.
