About this file
This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details the removal and replacement of four roof-mounted air conditioning units on Chevrolet Multistop/Box Trucks from 2003 and 2008-2009. The current Red Dot Rooftop Mount A/C Condenser units (24,000 BTU, 24V) are non-operational and need replacement to protect personnel working in extreme temperatures averaging 90-100 degrees during mission-critical maintenance. The new A/C units must meet specific technical requirements, including 24V voltage, 22.5" maximum length, 1500 CFM air flow, 71.76 sq ft cooling capability, and 24,000 BTU/hour capacity.
The contractor must individually replace each vehicle's A/C unit within 14 calendar days, ensuring minimal mission disruption. Requirements include providing new units with manufacturer's warranty, proper refrigerant and hoses, and lawful disposal of existing units. The contractor must be HVAC-certified, provide service and maintenance support, and deliver a comprehensive manual. The new units come with a 24-month or 1,500-hour factory parts warranty. Inspections will be conducted by the 2d Logistics Readiness Squadron Vehicle Maintenance section, and work will be performed during standard working hours, excluding weekends and federal holidays.
