About this file
This is a packaging requirements document specifying military packaging and marking standards for contract FD20602300964-01. The document details requirements for wood packaging materials (WPM) in compliance with United Nations restrictions, specifically addressing concerns about invasive species like the pinewood nematode. All wooden lumber, pallets, and containers must be constructed from debarked wood and undergo heat treatment (56°C/133°F for 30 minutes), with certification required from an agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee.
The document establishes that items must be packaged according to MIL-STD-2073-1 (Standard Practice for Military Packaging) and marked per MIL-STD-129 (Standard Practice for Military Marking). Shipping containers require specific markings including MIL-STD-129 compliance and additional requirements such as unit serial numbers, OEM names, and model numbers as specified on AFMC Form 158. The document covers multiple line items (including 9999DTL2500A7EW, 9999OAL25000EEW, 9999OSL250007EW, and 5865012400092EW) and was signed by packaging specialist Cedric E. Williams from the 406 SCMS/GULAA organization on December 20, 2024.
