About this file
The document describes the IDOT D1 Lane Closure System, a web-based application developed by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) District 1 to manage lane closure requests. The system allows contractors to enter closure data, which IDOT engineers review and approve, merge, or deny. Key features include data validation, conflict detection, reporting, and integration with IDOT's GTIS database. The system has been operational since 2013 and has processed over 224,665 closure requests. The document also provides an overview of the system's components, key personnel involved, and the history of its development.
The related state and local contract opportunity is a request for proposals (RFP) by IDOT to develop a WZDX-compliant data feed and establish a framework to enhance work zone safety. The RFP focuses on harmonizing work zone data for third-party use and involves the jurisdiction of Sangamon County. The document does not provide details on pricing, set-asides, incumbents, funding, or other salient information.
