About this file

This is a technical specification document detailing the requirements for a 1/8 scale B-52H Stratofortress bomber outdoor display model for Minot Air Force Base. The model must not exceed 550 pounds and must withstand extreme environmental conditions including temperatures ranging from -50°F to +100°F, winds up to 75 mph, heavy snow and ice accumulation, and prolonged UV exposure. The model will be mounted on a metal cylinder attachment measuring 12 inches in length with a 4-inch diameter, which will be affixed to the bottom of the aircraft. The existing pedestal structure measures approximately 7 feet 11 inches in height on the right side and 1 foot 11 inches on the left side, with a base width of 5.5 inches throughout and various tapered and angled specifications detailed in the document.

The model must include specific exterior markings and insignia as outlined in the ordering table, including the 23rd Bomb Squadron organizational insignia on the left fuselage, 5th Bomb Wing insignia on the right fuselage, nose numbers (0005) on both sides, bomb markings block, North Dakota block, nose art (War Birds), 5th Bomb Wing markings on external fuel tanks, Global Strike Command patches on the tail, distinctive unit identification markings (MT and 5 BW), and tail stripes. A digital PDF will be provided containing all required marking images. The contractor must deliver the completed model to Minot AFB and provide detailed assembly and mounting instructions, though installation is not required. The question deadline is April 7, 2026 at 5:00 PM CDT, with a quote deadline of April 14, 2026 at 1:00 PM CDT.
