About this file

This document appears to be an engineering drawing and technical requirements for an aluminum 120-millimeter (mm) sabot. The drawing shows the dimensional and assembly specifications for the sabot, including a maximum allowable gap between sabot petals and requirements for the penetrator component to be able to spin freely with limited axial displacement.

The related federal contract opportunity is a pre-solicitation notice for the fabrication of 100 of these aluminum 120mm sabots. The solicitation will be issued by the Department of the Army Materiel Command Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground. The synopsis indicates the Government intends to release a solicitation with the attached requirements document, but does not provide details on response dates, pricing terms, or set-asides.
