About this file
This document is a product brochure for the QWave microwave-assisted sample digestion system manufactured by Questron Lab Automation. The QWave product line consists of two configurations: the QWave 1000 (single magnetron system supporting closed and open vessel digestions) and the QWave 2000 (dual magnetron high-power system for closed vessel digestions only). Both systems feature 1800 or 900 watts of microwave power output in 1-watt increments, non-contact infrared temperature sensing, and a user-friendly touchscreen control panel with capacity to store 1000+ multi-step digestion recipes. The systems include preloaded EPA and other standard methods and provide real-time graphical display with data export and printing capabilities for documentation.
The QWave systems accommodate two vessel configurations: the eVHP Vessel Set (18 vessels with 110 ml volume, maximum control temperature of 230°C, and maximum control pressure of 69 bar/1000 psi) and the LVHT Vessel Set (36 vessels with 50 ml volume, maximum control temperature of 200°C, and maximum control pressure of 20.7 bar/300 psi). Key safety features include individual pressure control for each vessel using the patented OPGuard vessel protection system, which releases pressure vertically in a controlled manner, and automatic magnetron shutdown upon major pressure release. Additional capabilities include a QBlock pre- and post-digestion treatment system for sample concentration and acid treatment, vessel workup stations with torque-calibrated wrenches, and a two-speed exhaust system (50 or 150 CFM). The external dimensions are 22.8 x 24.8 x 25.5 inches with a weight of 69 kg (150 lbs.) and noise level under 56 dB. The system requires 200-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 15 Amps utility power.

Temp. & Power
All vessels are individually pressure controlled using our unique resealing over-pressure guard (OPGuard vessel protection system. This system releases pressure vertically in a controlled manner to achieve safe pressure conditions.
Released fumes are removed quickly to avoid condensation on cavity and vessels.
If release is minor and drop in temperature is minimal, the digestion method can be continued. In an instance where pressure release is major, complete safety is achieved by automatically cutting off magnetron power, activating audible alarm, and displaying visual warnings
