Hazardous/Universal Waste Removal and Disposal

The contractor must properly package and label in accordance with all hazardous waste regulations and placard the vehicles in which these wastes are shipped following Department of Transportation regulations and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). A hazardous waste manifest must be prepared and copies of the manifest signed by the TSDF must be provided with the final report. It will be the contractor’s responsibility to ensure the TSDF has all necessary permits.

Consultation with on-site personnel must occur before any other project related activities commence. Consultation with on-site personnel will provide information about the locations of materials, verify that incompatible materials are not stored together and identify those items currently in use and designated to remain on site.

If during removal activities a situation is encountered that is an immediate concern to human health or environment, the contractor shall notify the Branch of Environment and Cultural Resources Management in Aberdeen immediately at 605-226-7656.
