GENERAL
1.0 PURPOSE
This Statement of Work (SOW) defines the requirements for a one-time initial sanitization and entry point control of rodent infestation in the temporary storage tent located at EWG, Edwards Air Force Base (EAFB), California.
2.0 BACKGROUND
The temporary storage tent was erected in 2019 as a temperature-controlled environment to house equipment while MILCON efforts of B1040 were in progress. Due to the COVID19 pandemic and MILCON delays, large quantities of boxed/palletized equipment have been in storage to date. The environment at Edwards AFB is such that wildlife and vermin tend to infiltrate buildings in search of food and shelter.
To date, the temporary storage tent is infested with mice/rats and possibly other pests. Surfaces are contaminated with feces and urine, storage containers are damaged (chewed) with contents showing signs of rodent debris (bedding, urine, feces).
The contaminated environment proposes a threat to health and safety.

This AFI emphasizes standardized pest control practices to safeguard human health, the environment, and government resources. Additionally, DoDI 4150.07, DoD Pest Management Program, emphasizes the importance of pest control programs in disease prevention for military personnel and beneficiaries on military installations.
Our base pest control will work in conjunction with the awarded company performing the clean-up efforts and exclusion until the areas are confirmed to be rodent-free. This collaboration is essential to maintain the integrity of the pest management program and avoid potential conflicts in treatment strategies. It also ensures the effectiveness of the rodent proofing by implementing and performing any necessary Integrated Pest Management (IPM) before the exclusions are completed.
