About this file
This is a Statement of Work for a vehicle gate replacement project at the USDA Forest Service's Cibola National Forest and National Grassland Sandia District office in Tijeras, New Mexico. The contractor must provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, and supervision necessary to install a motorized vehicle gate on the south side of the district building. The gate shall match existing fence sections in appearance, utilize lightweight materials, span a maximum of 50 feet with a maximum load capacity of 2,000 pounds, and be powered by a chain-fed Lift Master motor equipped with pressure loops for automatic opening on the east side of the gate. The existing motor has failed due to being underpowered for the heavy gate and high traffic volume; the roadway serves as the only access route to the maintenance yards and the sole fire response avenue for Type 6 Fire crews.
The contractor is responsible for all mobilization, demobilization, bonds, and taxes. Key deliverables include a Proposed Project Plan due within five business days of contract award, weekly status reports due every Friday by 3:00 PM MST, and as-built drawings due upon project completion. The work consists of three main tasks: mobilization, removal of the existing gate and motor with proper disposal, and installation of the new 50-foot motorized vehicle gate in the current location. The gate must integrate with existing card reader and keypad equipment, meet or exceed current equipment standards per UFC 4-022-03 Physical Security Toolbox guidelines, and be capable of withstanding multiple daily opening and closing cycles. No materials will be government-furnished. The Sandia District office operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and all access must be coordinated with the Contracting Officer and Contracting Officer Representative. The contractor must demonstrate working knowledge of parking lot projects, fencing, and installation methods, with documentation of key personnel responsible for the work.

Project Cibola NF & NG Sandia District Vehicle Gate Replacement
General Information
1.0 Scope of Work
The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items and non-personal services necessary to install the exterior motorized vehicle gate on the south side of building on the road leading to the back east side of property that houses maintenance shops, fire offices and fire apparatus. The gate shall match the existing sections of fence on either side of the vehicle gate in appearance. The gate shall be powerful enough to withstand multiple opening and shutting actions throughout the day and shall be connected to the card reader equipment that is already existing on the Northwest side of gate.
2.0 Background
Sandia district office has a vehicle gate constructed of heavy steal framework and slats that roll on a metal rail located on the pavement in the roadway. Gate is motorized and powered by a motor that is linked to the card reader/key code pad located on the northwest corner of the gate. This gate is now non-operational due to the motor burning out because of the motor being underpowered for such a heavy gate and the high traffic volume of the roadway. This roadway serves as the only way in and out of the district’s maintenance yards and serves as the only Fire response avenue for the Type 6 Fire crews stationed at the Sandia district office.
