About this file
This is a Statement of Need for a federal fire pump procurement under CLIN 0001. The Air Force requires one (1) Waterous CPK-5 Two-Stage Fire Pump with mandatory brand name specification. The pump must be a two-stage centrifugal pump with ductile iron body, rated for 320 GPM at 1,350 PSI (1200 l/min at 93 bar), with a hydrostatic test pressure of 2,025 PSI. Technical specifications include replaceable bronze wear rings and impellers, 3-inch NPT or Victaulic intake connection, 1.5-inch ANSI flanged discharge, self-adjusting mechanical shaft seal, 1-1/2 inch SAE-10 spline clockwise input rotation, 12-volt system operation, pump discharge positioned up with inverted transmission mounting, and red oxide primer finish per M 4142-P per PR1532. The pump includes a one-year conditional parts warranty.
The document establishes health and safety obligations for contractor performance on government installations, requiring reasonable precautions to prevent accidents and preserve personnel safety, compliance with Department of the Air Force Occupational Safety and Health (AFOSH) Standards as directed by the contracting officer, and noting that violations may result in contract termination under the Default clause. An ombudsman, Ms. Lisa A. Gross at Scott AFB Illinois, has been designated to facilitate resolution of offeror concerns, though interested parties must first address issues with the contracting officer before seeking ombudsman assistance.
