About this file

This is a specifications document for solicitation 12805B25Q0098 detailing pesticide and application requirements for the Roman L. Hruska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) in Clay Center, Nebraska for FY2025. The document outlines five specific pesticide application requirements: 1) 1,700 acres of rye cover crop burndown using Glyphosate at 40 oz/acre during March-April 2025; 2) 2,500 corn acres each for pre-emergent and post-emergent chemical applications during March-July 2025; 3) 700 corn acres for pre-emergent and 1,400 acres for post-emergent applications on fields transitioning to alfalfa; 4) 450 soybean XtendFlex acres each for pre-emergent and post-emergent treatments; and 5) 450 soybean XtendFlex acres for potential Liberty herbicide application in June-July 2025.

The contractor must provide detailed spray logs monthly documenting acres applied, timing, weather conditions, and pesticide quantities. USMARC will provide field maps and 24-48 hour advance notice for spraying. The contractor will only bill for successfully sprayed acres at the specified application rates. Each treatment requires specific chemical combinations including Glyphosate, surfactants, and liquid AMS, with application rates varying from 15-25 gallons per acre depending on the treatment. The work will be performed at USMARC's facility at 844 Road 313, Clay Center NE 68933.
