About this file

This document is a Salient Characteristics & Component Assessment for a solar panel and sub-panel replacement requirement (CA-SNLNWRC-SNOBIRD Solar Panel Replacement).

The requirement addresses replacement of a burnt or heat-damaged 400-amp, 600-volt NEMA 3R sub-panel (Square D/Siemens, catalog number P1E30MC400AT, rated 480/277V three-phase, 4-wire, 20"W x 5.75"D x 62"H) and associated electrical components. The contractor must replace damaged circuit breakers (two 100A three-pole, one 20A three-pole, one 80A three-pole), wiring and conductors (approximately 570 feet of 500 MCM copper wire and 190 feet of #2 THHN copper wire rated for up to 600V), and related equipment including conduit/raceways (3" PVC conduit requiring some replacement including a 3" female PVC adapter and chase nipple). Solar panels, modules, inverters, and controllers appear undamaged and require confirmation but may need compatible replacements if incompatible with the new equipment. Existing mounting utilizes OMCO direct-bolt galvanized steel racking.

The contractor must provide a complete and fully operational installation including all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, testing, startup, commissioning, labeling, grounding, bonding, and verification of proper system operation. All replacement equipment must be new, code-compliant, mutually compatible with the existing facility electrical system, and meet or exceed minimum salient characteristics. The contractor shall not reuse any components showing evidence of burning, melting, excessive heat exposure, arcing, or insulation deterioration. A site visit verification chart is provided to document existing data, observed damage, and replacement requirements for all system components.
