Building 109 is the DLA Distribution Jacksonville, FL key storage area for retail binnable material and sheet metal storage planned to be relocated from Bldg. 163 to Bldg.109 in FY 21 once the binnable racing is removed. The VLMs under a separate contract will be used to store the material in the 35 ft. bin rack in the first 4 rack rows which will be demoed to make room for sheet metal rack in FY 21. The sheet metal cassette storage will be used to consolidate sheet metal currently stored in Bldg. 163. The cantilever rack system will be supplied under a separate contract which will be used to store the bulk quantities of sheet metal and will be the back-up storage for replenishment into the sheet metal cassette storage system. These two storage systems will consolidate all sheet metal from Bldg. 163 into one central facility. The sheet metal storage in Bldg. 163 has several NINS stored on the same level, which makes finding material difficult. This storage system will allow for planographing to improve inventory accuracy and audit readiness and will improve the efficiency of storage operations.
