About this file
This document is a Salient Characteristics specification for federal contract opportunity W81K00-26-Q-A123 for a Surgical Lighting System to be procured by Brooke Army Medical Center, JBSA Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
The required surgical lighting system must feature dual fixtures with two 24-inch diameter light heads, providing center focus control with 110 degrees of vertical travel and adjustable intensity and positioning from a sterile handle. The system shall deliver deep-cavity illumination with minimal shadows, provide white light and 4500K color temperature for bright, adjustable illumination tailored to different procedures, and incorporate energy-efficient LEDs with a minimum lifespan of 40,000 hours. The system must include 360-degree rotation capability and drift-free stability for versatility across various orthopedic surgical procedures. The power source must accommodate 100-240VAC input at 148-240VA, 50/60 Hz, single phase.
Biomedical considerations specify that operator training, consumable/spare parts inventory planning, and special calibration equipment are not required; however, quality history, supportability, ease of maintenance and repair, and regional support and service are mandatory. The equipment must hold FDA certifications or 510K numbers, JECETC/JAC certification, and conform to applicable National/International standards including ASTM, ISO, CSA, UL, NFPA, and MIL-STDs where required. The specific clinical setting is orthopedic services, and the system must meet dual fixture specifications with white light and 4500K brightness adjustment capabilities as needed by surgical providers.
