Summary of Tobacco Use Prevention Programs for Youth
This is an Appendix A document supporting the New Hampshire Tobacco Use Prevention Programs for Youth contract opportunity. The document outlines the scope and requirements for youth-focused tobacco prevention initiatives administered by the state. The program aims to prevent and reduce tobacco use among New Hampshire youth through evidence-based prevention strategies, education, and community engagement. The contract encompasses comprehensive tobacco prevention services including youth education programs, community awareness campaigns, provider training, and data collection and evaluation activities. Specific deliverables include the development and implementation of prevention curricula, coordination with schools and community organizations, establishment of youth advisory groups, and quarterly progress reporting to the state agency overseeing the initiative.
The funding for this program is derived from the state's tobacco settlement funds and Master Settlement Agreement allocations. Applicants must demonstrate capability in evidence-based prevention program implementation, experience working with youth populations, and capacity to engage diverse communities across New Hampshire. The contract requires detailed budget justification and program evaluation methodologies to measure effectiveness in reducing youth tobacco initiation and use rates. Organizations selected as incumbents or new awardees must maintain compliance with all state tobacco control policies and federal tobacco prevention guidelines throughout the contract period.
