About this file
This is a requirements specification document for global satellite trackers being solicited by the U.S. Special Operations Command. The document outlines eight key requirements for a durable vehicle-mounted or hand-carried satellite tracking device.
The specifications call for 1,000 trackers to be delivered within two weeks of contract award, with immediate operational need. Key technical requirements include: magnetic mounting capability for tool-free "slap and track" installation, integrated solar recharging for several months of continuous use without external power, temperature resistance from -32°F to 110°F, and encrypted data transmission. The system must include software with administrator and view-only user accounts, plus over-the-air reprogramming capability. Pricing must be comprehensive, covering satellite activation fees, annual data plans, website access, specified data rates, and all shipping costs to the delivery location. Response quotes are due by December 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM EST, with RFIs due by December 19, 2024 at 5:00 PM EST.
