About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for the U.S. Coast Guard's Next Generation Surface Search Radar (NXR) procurement. The RFI seeks market research and industry feedback on replacing six current surface search radar systems currently deployed across 14 cutter platforms and 113 Vessel Traffic Service surveillance sites. The Coast Guard is targeting radar systems in the NAICS Code 334511 for Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing, with a Product Service Code of 5840 for Radar Equipment.
The comprehensive questionnaire covers detailed technical requirements including system capabilities, open standard protocols, commercial product availability, end of manufacture/support dates, pricing structures, testing methodologies, maintenance/repair processes, design approaches, and compliance with various technical standards. Interested vendors must submit responses electronically to specified Coast Guard contacts by April 11, 2025, at 12:00 PM ET, with a total file size limit of 10MB. The RFI emphasizes that this is solely for information gathering and market research purposes, and does not constitute a commitment to contract award, with vendors encouraged to provide feedback on both "Objective" and "Threshold" requirements in the draft Statement of Work and System Requirements Document.
