Specific technical requirements include: door clear width minimum 32 inches at 90 degrees; opening force not exceeding 5 lbf for interior and 8.5 lbf for exterior doors; threshold height ≤1/2 inch (beveled if exceeding 1/4 inch); maneuvering clearance minimum 30×48 inches; lever/push hardware operable without tight grasping, mounted 34–48 inches above finished floor (AFF); door closing speed minimum 5 seconds from 90° to 12°; automatic doors compliant with ANSI A156.10/156.19; and tactile/Braille signage mounted 48–60 inches AFF with high contrast and non-glare finish.

The project is structured in six phases with an eight-week schedule. Phase 1 (Week 1) requires survey and assessment with submission of an assessment report. Phase 2 (Weeks 2–3) involves design and specification development. Phase 3 (Week 4) includes procurement of ADA-compliant materials (doors, hardware, thresholds, closers, operators, and signage). Phase 4 (Weeks 5–6) covers removal of existing components and installation of new compliant assemblies. Phase 5 (Week 7) requires full ADA compliance testing including automatic systems and safety sensors, with corrections completed by end of week. Phase 6 (Week 8) entails preparation of final compliance documentation, as-built documentation, warranties, and closeout materials. Acceptance criteria require full compliance verification through measurements, testing, and documentation demonstrating adherence to all applicable ADA, ANSI A117.1, and ADAAG standards.
