STATEMENT OF WORK
JOINT REGION MARIANAS (JRM) FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES (F&ES)
PARAMEDIC EDUCATION PILOT PROGRAM
1. Background: JRM F&ES requires contracted support to send its firefighters to attend a
CAAHEP/CoAEMSP accelerated accredited Paramedic training program for Paramedic students to successfully gain an NREMT Paramedic certification. The enhanced capability of a certified nationally registered Paramedic is paramount to the mission in providing installation support functions to JRM and save lives.
2. Objective: JRM F&ES needs to send between 5-10 firefighters to attend an accelerated accredited Paramedic training program to be certified as NREMT Paramedics.
3. Requirement: The Contractor shall provide an accelerated CAAHEP/CoAEMSP accredited
Paramedic education program that meets the following requirements:
Didactic classroom instruction that consists of the following:
1. Paramedic Airway Course
2. Paramedic Cardiac Course
3. Paramedic Medical Course
4. Paramedic Trauma Course
5. Paramedic Operations Course
6. Paramedic Obstetrics/Pediatric Course
Hospital clinical internship that consists of the following:
1. Facilitates 168-hours in various departments within a hospital setting at the emergency room, intensive care unit for adults and pediatrics, surgery, etc.
Field internship that consists of the following:
2. Facilitates 576-hours with a Paramedic preceptor on an advanced life support ambulance.
4. Contractor Minimum Qualifications:
Delivers a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
(CAAHEP) in conjunction with the Committee on Accreditation for the EMS Professions (CoAEMSP) Paramedic education program for the Paramedic student.
Facilitates the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) computer-based Paramedic written exams for the Paramedic student.
Facilitates the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedic practical skills exams for the Paramedic student.
Conducts the American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification course for the Paramedic student.
Conducts the American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification course for the Paramedic student.

Conducts the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) advanced Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification course for the Paramedic student.
5. Period of Performance: Deliver a 6-month accelerated accredited Paramedic training program.
6. Place of Performance: The didactic classroom instruction should be performed at a Contractor-owned or coordinated facilities. The hospital clinical and field internships should be performed based on the availability of Contractor’s hospital clinical and field partners.
