The contractor must provide all personnel, tools, equipment, materials, and supervision to maintain approximately 1.8 acres (80,000 square feet) of grounds, including areas inside AROS fencing. Additional requirements include pruning and trimming trees and shrubbery in front of the main office in late June and late August to maintain traffic sight lines, seeding a lawn area measuring 18 feet by 78 feet between the front building and parking lot in the spring, and a fertilization and treatment schedule consisting of spring applications (pre-emergent, fertilizer, broadleaf weed and crabgrass control), early June applications (slow-release fertilizer and broadleaf weed and crabgrass control), and fall applications (broadleaf weed control and micronutrients).
The Meteorologist in Charge, Richard Pollman (248-625-3309 x642), serves as the local government contact point and inspection authority. The contractor must bill monthly in arrears and, if remotely located, designate a local representative with contact information for government communications. Additional contractual obligations include debris cleanup before departure, ensuring hoses and tools do not create trip hazards, compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, responsibility for spill remediation, security log sign-in procedures upon arrival, and allowing the government to waive or request lawn care services to maintain well-maintained grounds appearance.
