About this file
This is a technical specifications document for Seminole County's county-owned transfer trailers, prepared in support of the County's Solid Waste Hauling & Transportation Services solicitation for recyclable materials, municipal solid waste, and yard waste transportation from the Seminole County Central Transfer Station. The specifications detail the requirements for vendors bidding Schedule A (County-supplied trailer, contractor-supplied tractor) to ensure full compatibility between their proposed tractors and the County's 2026 MAC TNSP45MF 45-foot moving floor transfer trailers. The trailers feature a 109 cubic yard capacity with a sheet and post floor system, Keith 2301 moving floor, and Roll Rite STS electric tarp system. Key technical requirements include a standard 2-inch kingpin, fifth wheel height of approximately 42-48 inches from ground, tandem axle suspension, SAE J560 standard 7-way electrical connector, gladhand air couplings, and a hydraulic wet line kit with Power Take-Off (PTO) capability for operating the moving floor hydraulic drive system.
Vendors must certify that their proposed tractors are fully compatible with the County's trailer specifications, including fifth wheel coupling height, electrical connections, air couplings, and hydraulic systems before contract commencement. The County targets approximately 20 tons of recyclable materials per load, with an empty body weight of approximately 15,811 lbs and maximum payload of approximately 20 tons (40,000 lbs), subject to Florida Department of Transportation legal gross vehicle weight limits. Vendors are responsible for confirming their tractor's Gross Combination Weight (GCW) rating is sufficient for loaded trailer operations on Florida highways and that all compatibility requirements are met prior to contract start. Failure to provide compatible hydraulic drive systems constitutes a non-performance event under the contract.
