Bldg 1406 Carpet Renovation Questions and Answers
1. I saw the specification for 4 inch rubber trim but is there a specific color that you would like for us to have?
a. LeMay Answer: Dark Graphite Grey is the color preferred. Intent is to coordinate with the metal on desks & carpet selected.
b. Haworth Graphite (TR-J) Item #3014.
2. Will the contractor be required to dispose of the carpet tiles that are onsite that have been take up by others?
a. LeMay Answer: Yes, all old blue carpet will be disposed. It is a removal and install.
3. The data room has carpet tiles and we assume will be part of the area to be replaced. If this is the case will the carpet tiles that have been selected for this area be static dissipate?
a. LeMay Answer: Specifically for the server room, the carpet will only be replaced 2 carpet squares into the room. The carpet under the server racks will remain in place.
4. Will there be a requirement for a taller cove base 4-1/2” or 6”
a. LeMay Answer: Due to the wall paper, 6” would be preferred to allow any rips with the wall paper to be hidden.
5. During the site visit, we noticed a few floor access panels were missing. Will the missing access panels be replaced prior to the Carpet Renovation?
a. LeMay Answer: Yes, all access panels will be in place and there is no need for covering. All cutouts for floor boxes have covers.
6. Will any of the floor panels need to functionally open after the carpet is installed? If so, how many and what is the dimensions of the access panels?
a. LeMay Answer: All panels should be able to be accessed. There should be some non-permanent adhesive to prevent tiles from sliding but still allow for floor panels to be accessed.
7. For Interface Americas Collection name "winning team" color code 105778 Color name, Icebreaker/ magma what is the cove base color requested. There is no correlating color with that color choice carpet.
a. LeMay Answer: Dark Graphite Grey is the color preferred. Intent is to coordinate with the metal on desks & carpet selected.
8. Has the space been checked for asbestos?
a. 42 CES Answer: Yes the floors have been tested for asbestos and the results were negative. See attached EMSL floor results 1-11-12.
