Labor Categories for Demil R&D IDIQ
Engineering & Science Categories
Scientist
Minimum Experience: 14 years.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related scientific discipline. An MS degree in a scientific area with nine years of experience or a PhD with four years of experience is considered equivalent.
Functional Responsibility: Carries out research, development and testing of programs on systems, components, and materials either concurrent with design, fabrication, or testing to better evaluate and minimize future problems or independently to explore new concepts and technology. Develops alternate solutions to existing problems. Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Performs or delegates all detail work necessary to determine optimum solutions. Evaluates proposals and makes recommendations based on sound scientific principles and practical considerations. Prepares cost and schedule estimates and technical documents on proposed projects in assigned area. Demonstrates creative ability through patent disclosures, problem-solving, scientific reports or technical papers and articles.
Project Manager
Minimum Experience: 10 years.
Education: Bachelor's degree in applicable field or 20 years of experience in a related area.
Functional Responsibility: Coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs. Responsibilities also include aiding in the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes and coordinating preparations of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts. Develops new business and expands product line. Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and directs work of incumbents assigned to program from various departments. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Leads and directs the work of others.
Senior Engineer
Minimum Experience: 14 years.
Education: Bachelor's degree in applicable field (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, etc.). An MS degree in an engineering discipline with nine years of experience or a PhD with four years of experience is considered equivalent.
Functional Responsibility: Responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. Performs engineering design evaluations. May develop a range of products. Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. May report to an executive or a manager.
General Engineer.
Minimum Experience: 9 years.
Education: Bachelor's degree in applicable field. An MS degree in an engineering discipline with four years of experience is considered equivalent.
Functional Responsibility: Responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. Performs engineering design evaluations. May develop a range of products. Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
QC Engineer
Minimum Experience: 4 years.
Education: High school diploma, technical school certificate, or both.
Functional Responsibility: Responsible for quality assurance and quality control aspects of process, products, and systems. Documents and tracks requirements throughout design, testing, and delivery. Guides and directs reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) aspects of designs and conducts RAM assessments and evaluations. Manages compliance with quality ISO standards. Design, develop and implement best quality practices and processes for product and process developments.
Engineering Technician
Education: High school diploma, technical school certificate, or both.
Functional Responsibility: Maintains, repairs, and installs various types of mechanical or electronic equipment and related devices, computer and control systems, measurement systems, test apparatus and systems, and industrial robotic devices. Applies technical knowledge of mechanical or electronics principles in setting up and troubleshooting electrical or mechanical systems, determining equipment malfunctions and restoring operations, and setting up and conducting tests. Prepares and reviews technical and operations documentation.
Draftsman
Minimum Experience: 4 years.
Education: Bachelor's degree in applicable field. Experience may be substituted at the rate of two years of directly related experience for each year of education.
Functional Responsibility: Works closely with design originators, preparing drawings of unusual, complex or original design that require a high degree of precision. Must be capable of preparing drawings of electrical circuits, machined parts, wiring diagrams and schematics from interpreting draft layouts, sketches or other sources. Ensures that anticipated problems during manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation are resolved by the drawing produced. Independent judgment required in selecting and interpreting data based on knowledge of the design. Must be versatile in standard computer based drafting programs.
Manufacturing Categories
Manufacturing
Minimum Experience: 2 years.
Education: High school diploma, technical school certificate, or both. Certification or licensure in the relevant trade or specialty.
Functional Responsibility: Responsible for the operation of processes and equipment and creation of products. Includes a broad range of specialty skills required to manufacture and produce parts, components, products, and assemblies. Includes operation and use of factory processes, shop equipment, or specialty tools.
Inspection & Testing
Functional Responsibility: Responsible for inspection and testing of processes and products to ensure compliance with requirements. Familiar with test methods and procedures and inspection and test equipment and standards. Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
QC Technician
Functional Responsibility: Implements quality assurance and quality control aspects of process, products, and systems. Ensures activities associated with manufacturing and testing follow quality management system. Ensures production or manufacturing processes and products meet quality specifications. Maintains authority to accept or reject products as necessary, and investigate non-conformances issues to ensure causes are identified, and that follow-up activities occur to mitigate and/or control impact, and prevent recurrence.
Production Control
Functional Responsibility: Plan, direct, or coordinate work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. Establish and coordinate production schedules. Ensure production related milestones and goals are met.
Tool, Die & Model Maker
Education: High school diploma, technical school certificate, or both.
Functional Responsibility:
Produce tools, dies, and parts of machines used to manufacture a variety of products. Possess a broad knowledge of machining operations. Operates a variety of machine tools such as milling, lathes, grinders, and hand tools as well as precision measuring instruments. Read blueprints, sketches, specifications, or CAD and CAM files.
