About this file
This document is a Salient Characteristics specification for a Solar Power Module for Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington. The document outlines the need to replace gasoline generators with solar power solutions, highlighting benefits such as reduced operational costs, decreased environmental pollution, and improved operational flexibility. The specific requirements include two 10000Wh, 4000W power modules with LFP batteries, thirty-two 1m2 200W rigid solar panels with tilt brackets, two 50ft solar array cables, four inline fuses, and four Y-cables. The project aligns with the Air Education and Training Command's technology integration initiative and the Department of Defense's energy independence priorities. The total delivery timeline is set at 60 days after contract award.

Salient Characteristics For
Solar Power Module Fairchild AFB, WA
1. BACKGROUND: Reliance on gasoline generators leads to higher operational costs, environmental pollution, and logistical vulnerabilities. They produce noise that compromises security, require frequent maintenance, and pose health and safety risks due to fuel handling and carbon monoxide. Solar generation offers a sustainable, renewable energy source, reducing costs, environmental impact, and operational downtime. Without this conversion, field operations face increased costs, higher risk, reduced reliability, and limited operational flexibility.
2. OBJECTIVES: Convert Fairchilds mobile command posts to full solar power, setting the stage for a transformative shift to sustainable energy, aligning with AETC's technology integration initiative and supporting the DoD's priorities for energy independence.
3. REQUIREMENTS: Solar Power Module must meet the salient characteristics listed below.
The contractor shall provide and deliver the following:
- Two (2) 10000Wh, 4000W, 120v/240v pure sine wave power modules with LFP module batteries to allow for expansion.
- Thirty-Two (32) 1m2 200W rigid solar panels with tilt brackets
- Two (2) 50ft solar array cables
- Four (4) inline fuses for the solar arrays
- Four (4) Y-cables to allow consolidation into the power module
4. DELIVERY: 60 Days ADC
