This Section applies to a claim brought against the State of Oregon only to the extent Congress has appropriately abrogated the State of Oregon’s sovereign immunity and is not consent by the State of Oregon to be sued in federal court. Nothing in these provisions shall be construed as a waiver of the State of Oregon’s or OPRD’s sovereign or governmental immunity, whether derived from the Eleventh Amendment to the United States Constitution or otherwise, or a waiver of any defenses to Proceedings or jurisdiction based thereon.

CONTRACTOR HEREBY CONSENTS TO THE IN PERSONAM JURISDICTION OF THESE COURTS AND

WAIVES ANY OBJECTION TO VENUE IN THESE COURTS AND ANY CLAIM THAT THE FORUM IS AN

INCONVENIENT FORUM.

Background. The Oregon Heritage Commission of Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) has committed to carrying out studies and create messaging tools to help heritage organizations communicate the value of their organizations and heritage preservation efforts.

The next priority for the commission is a study of the impact of Oregon’s heritage organizations, preservation, places, and activities on the Oregon economy.

The results of an economic impact study of Oregon’s heritage related organizations, sites, and activities would provide a quantitative analysis of the benefits this industry has on Oregon’s economy. Creating messaging tools helps local heritage organizations and advocates interpret and communicate that benefit to local stakeholder group and decision makers, thus increasing awareness of the positive impact heritage preservation has on the local community.
