Statement of Work For
Removal and Installation of an Industrial Shear
1.0. Description of Services. The contractor shall provide all tools, equipment, transportation, personnel, labor, supervision, and management to remove the current Industrial Shear and install a new Industrial Shear for Welding Shop, Building (BLDG.) 7441, located on the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG) complex at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base
(DMAFB), AZ.
1.1. Basic Services. The contractor will be required to remove an ALL-STEAL Industrial Shear
(Model 3/8-12, Serial CYC-38141) weighing in at 28,000 lbs. from BLDG. 7441 to include cutting the anchor bolts and place it outside of BLDG. 7441 to allow plenty of space for AMARG employee access. The Contractor will be required to install the new Industrial Shear weighing at 35,000 (estimated) lbs. Contractor will be required to bring in the new shear from outside of BLDG. 7441 to the inside of BLDG. 7441 and placed on specific area with-in BLDG. 7441, the contractor will be required to level and install anchors In Accordance With (IAW) manufacture recommendation/Owner’s Manual. The contractor will NOT be required to do any electrical work.
• Anchoring requirements are unknow but will be available after technical acceptance of shear is reviewed and accepted.
1.2. ALL STEEL Industrial Shear: Please see attachment 2 for pictures.
A. General Specs: In accordance with the Owners’ Manual (OM). The Press Break must be lifted from the top and only lifted from the manufacture install lifting lug.
a. Weight: 28,000lbs.
b. Width: 14ft.
c. Depth: 8ft.
d. Height: 10ft.
1.3. New Industrial Shear:
A. General Specs: Industrial Shear Specs will be available when awarded but below are general specifics of a 14ft. width shear.
a. Weight: 35,000lbs. (EST. Shipping weight)
b. Width: 15ft. (EST)
c. Depth: TBD.
d. Height: 9ft. (EST)
1.4. BLDG. 7441: Please see attachment 2 for pictures. Cannot cut/remove any part of the building, must use garage door. Clear access to and from the ALL STEEL shear to garage door.
As you exit the garage door there is a -3% grade for 50ft until it reached level. Clear access outside BLDG. 7441.
A. General Building Specs:
a. Garage Door Height: 12ft.
b. Garage Door Width: 12ft.
1.5. Non-Personal Services. The government shall neither supervise contractor employees, nor control the method by which the contractor performs the required tasks. Under no circumstances shall the government assign tasks to or prepare work schedules for individual contractor employees. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to manage its employees and to guard against any actions that are of the nature of personal services or give the perception of personal services. If the contractor believes that any actions constitute, or are perceived to constitute personal services, it shall be the contractor’s responsibility to notify the Contracting Officer immediately.
