About this file

This is a maintenance task list attachment that specifies preventive maintenance requirements for two categories of material handling equipment.

Maintenance Task List #1 applies to Stock Selectors, Waves, Turret Trucks, and Electric/Wire-Guided vehicles with 2,000-6,000 lbs capacity. The list includes nine maintenance tasks with semi-annual and/or annual frequencies: lubricate all points (semi-annual), wheel bearings (both frequencies), hydraulic oil filters (annual), all fluids (both frequencies), motor drive (both frequencies), battery cleaning and service (both frequencies), hoist and carriage chains (both frequencies), safety inspection (both frequencies), and load certification (annual). Tasks require specific actions such as inspecting and repacking wheel bearings, checking and changing fluid levels, performing safety component inspections including lights, brakes, and fire extinguishers, and stenciling capacity in accordance with CFR 29, Part 1910.

Maintenance Task List #2 covers Electric Forklifts (all types) and Pallet Jacks, requiring 13 maintenance tasks at varying frequencies. Semi-annual tasks include lube chassis, check motor brushes, check contact points, hydraulic system and filter inspection, electric motor checks, lights and lenses inspection, brakes inspection, safety inspection, operational checks, battery maintenance, and lift chain inspection. Annual-only tasks include wheel bearings inspection and load testing. Safety-related repairs must be accomplished under remedial maintenance, and all load testing must comply with DFR 29, Part 1910. Both task lists reference approval or agreement by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for certain remedial maintenance actions.
