About this file
The document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the replacement of seven vertical carousels at Fairchild Air Force Base. The government requires the contractor to remove existing Remstar Vertical Carousels from multiple locations, dispose of debris in compliance with local, federal, and state regulations, and return serviceable parts to the government. Four carousels are certified for replacement (Carousel C, E, F, and H), with three additional carousels (Carousel G, IPE Carousel, and Envision Carousel) as optional installations.
Each carousel has specific technical requirements, including dimensions of 120"-124" wide, 65.80"-72" deep, and 17'-25' high, with 16-23 multipurpose carriers, worksurfaces 12-15" deep, and power requirements of 480V / 3~ / 50/60 Hz. The carousels must include safety features such as emergency hand cranks, automatic chain tensioners, access opening lights, and safety-light curtains. The contractor must provide certified electricians to disconnect and reconnect power, utilize existing Heavy Duty Safety Switches, and install the new vertical carousels at two locations within Fairchild Air Force Base. Additional requirements include providing forklift and scissor lifts, and using scrap metal bins for old carousel disposal.
