About this file

This document is a specification sheet for mass comparators being procured by the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA). It outlines the technical requirements for three groups of automated and manual mass comparators, including specifications for capacity, readability, repeatability, and other mandatory and desirable features. The supplier must be ISO 9001 certified, provide on-site installation and training, a 13-month warranty, and post-installation technical support. The contract also requires the supplier to demonstrate the lifespan and service capabilities for the mass comparators. The procurement opportunity is for the purchase of these mass comparators, with no additional details provided on quantities, response deadlines, or contract term.

The pricing terms, set-asides, funding sources, and other commercial considerations are not specified in this document. However, it is noted that the on-site installation, training, and other support services must be provided at no additional cost to ODA. Overall, this appears to be a technical specification document outlining the requirements for the mass comparators being procured by ODA.

Group 1 Specifications
G1.S.1Mass Comparator repeatability specification may not exceed 3x its readability unless otherwise noted in these specifications.

Repeatability specification applies to a Mass Comparator properly installed and leveled in ODA’s mass metrology laboratory, which has seismic stability and a climate control system with draft, temperature, and humidity control suitable for certifying mass standards to ASTM E617-18 Class 1 tolerances.

Repeatability is calculated from 10 consecutive AB measurements corrected for linear drift using suitable highly polished stainless steel single mass standards.Mandatory
G1.S.2Mass Comparators must be capable of weighing mass standards having nominal weight values from 0.1x manufacturer stated capacity to capacity at 0.1x manufacturer stated capacity intervals.

(For example, if the Mass Comparator’s capacity is 100 g, then the Mass Comparator must be capable of weighing mass standards having nominal weight values from 10 g to 100 g at 10 g intervals: 10 g, 20 g, 30 g, and so on).

A Mass Comparator with full electric range from 0 to full capacity will be considered satisfactory provided it meets the repeatability specification.

If external tare weights are required to meet this requirement then they must be supplied by manufacturer at no additional cost.Mandatory
