About this file

This document is Technical Exhibit 8, which specifies the representative list of consumable materials that contractors must furnish at their own expense to support maintenance operations. The Contractor is responsible for procuring all consumable materials from either commercial sources or the Naval Supply System as a cash customer. A one-time inventory of consumables may be onboard at turnover, but the Contractor cannot rely on the Government to provide replacement stock.

The consumables list encompasses a broad range of items including abrasives, adhesives, office supplies, shop cleaning supplies, personal protective equipment (ear plugs, masks, aprons), tools and accessories (brushes, blades, squeegees, tie wraps), and miscellaneous items such as batteries, chalk, correction fluid, flashlights, and record books. The document explicitly notes that the list is not all-inclusive but indicates the range and types of items that may be required. The Government does not warrant that any items will be onboard the craft or workshop at delivery. The Contracting Officer has sole authority to determine the property category classification for any given item. Additionally, the Contractor bears responsibility for procuring any necessary hazardous materials (HAZMAT) not provided by the Government.
