Technical Specifications Xenon Arc Tester

DLA Product Test Center, TA Lab

Objective:

To obtain Xenon Arc Tester to expand the Product Test Center’s (PTC) testing capabilities for its customers. An acquisition will also increase PTC’s testing capacity, and complement two aging models, which have proven to be quality testing equipment over the past 15+ years. The Xenon Arc Tester will be utilized to simulate the effects of sunlight, heat, and moisture on materials— essentially accelerating the aging process to determine quality of a given test exhibit over time. Internally, xenon arc lamps are used to closely mimic the full spectrum of natural sunlight, including ultraviolet (UV), visible, and infrared light depending on the prescribed test method.
