Some examples of authorized uses include official tours of waterfront capabilities to showcase the U.S. Navy’s warfighting readiness as produced through the Fleet’s core processes of force development, force generation, and force employment, as well as the hosting of official visits for U.S. and foreign dignitaries eligible under SECNAVINST 7024.7L in order to maintain the standing and prestige of the United States. The Barge is also used for official command functions such as promotions, frockings, re-enlistments, retirement ceremonies, award presentations, and command events to discuss official business and enhance professional relationships between commanders and subordinates.
