About this file
This document is a technical standards attachment for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) that outlines approved enterprise technologies and infrastructure requirements for federal contract work.
The client environment specifications require Dell Latitude 54xx workstations with Windows Enterprise 10, Microsoft Edge/Chrome/Firefox browsers, Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint for document storage, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Teams for collaboration, and Microsoft Office 365. Authentication must utilize PIV with Cisco DUO available only for exceptions. Mobile devices are limited to approved Apple iPhone models. The data center infrastructure designates Amazon Web Services GovCloud as the primary platform with Microsoft Azure GovCloud as an alternate for applications with tight SharePoint integration. Development and deployment technologies include RedHat OpenShift for containerization, RedHat Enterprise Linux or MS Server 2016/2019 for server operating systems, Microsoft SQL Server 2019 for databases, Java and .Net programming languages, and Apache Tomcat or Microsoft IIS application servers. The development pipeline requires GitLab for source code repository, Jenkins for build management, Maven for build automation, and Nexus for artifact repository. Testing and quality assurance tools include SonarQube for static code analysis, Selenium for automated integration testing, JMeter for performance testing, and Cucumber for behavior-driven development. Additional enterprise tools specified include Pega Systems for low-code workflows, ESRI for geospatial analysis, Microsoft PowerBI for reporting, ServiceNow for ITSM and configuration management, Splunk for audit log analysis, Crowdstrike for antivirus protection, and IBM BigFix or Microsoft SCCM for patch automation.
