About this file

This is a Specifications document for a federal construction contract to install five unisex concrete vault toilets across three Ranger Districts.

The project requires installation of single vault toilets with specific configurations: barnwood exterior finish, full screen enclosure, simulated wood shake roof, dark brown concrete color, unisex ADA signage, and vent screens. Three toilets will be right-handed (Benchmark Airstrip, Ron Janicula TH, and Highwood Cabin) and two will be left-handed (Park Lake Day Use and Park Lake CG). The contractor must submit product data including construction details, material descriptions, component dimensions, and finish specifications for contracting officer approval within a minimum of 5 working days from Government receipt. All installations must comply with vault toilet manufacturer instructions and ADA accessibility requirements for access routes. At Park Lake Day Use, where existing asphalt borders the installation site, the contractor is responsible for providing finished accessible concrete surfaces and any necessary grading or flatwork to create a proper transition into the facility. Excavation work includes conducting utility locates prior to digging, with equipment capable of excavating 5-foot holes in mountainous terrain at locations staked by the Contracting Officer's Representative. The contractor must pump and dispose of existing toilet systems at approved offsite locations in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, maintain site safety during open excavations, perform daily site cleanup, and restore natural surface contours before final Government acceptance. All excess materials, waste, and rubbish must be removed from the site before project completion.
