Questions & Answers Theodore Roosevelt NP-NU Campground Water Renovation

Question 1:

Keynote 202 on E2 references a new well pump. Does this scope of work include a new well pump furnished and installed by the Contractor? If so, is this to be controlled by a new VDF?

Government Answer:

Yes, this contract will furnish a new well pump and controls with required accessories for an operational well pump.

Question 2:

Limited responses for bolted steel water tank due to questions related to sourcing. Buy American provisions apply but is the tank subject to American Iron and Steel Requirement (AIS) or Build America.

Buy America Act (BABAA) requirements?

Government Answer:

Review FAR clause 52.225-9 Buy American-Construction Materials (Oct 2022)

Buy American Act applies.

Question 3:

Should the assumptions listed in the general notes on S-2 (roof snow loads, wind loading/exposure, etc.)

be applied to design requirements for the water storage tank?

Government Answer:

Yes, follow the design parameters set forth in the specifications and plans.

Question 4:

Will the government consider abandoning in place the portion of existing water line that runs from the existing water tank 316 feet? Will the Government consider horizontal boring the entire new line?

Yes, the government will consider “or equal” materials and construction methods through the submittal process.

Question 5:

Confirmation is needed if fused sections of the new main water line are permitted?

Government Answer: Yes, THE NEW HDPE Water Main PIPE will Require FUSED Splicing, per the specifications.

Can the 500’ of open trench be bored instead of trenched?

Yes, the government will consider “or equal” materials and construction methods through the submittal process.

Question 7:

Section 33 14 00-part 1.3 lists PVC pipe to be used for boring. Can the bores be completed with poly pipe of equal specifications?

Who is responsible for pressure testing, or will the government bring in a 3rd party?
