About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for the Theodore Roosevelt National Park-NU Campground Water Renovation project, updated January 8, 2025. The document contains 14 technical questions and government responses regarding specifications for water system upgrades.

Key details include: a new well pump requirement (1.5 HP @ 10 gpm with 370 feet total head, Franklin Electric Schaefer 4-diameter stainless steel, 3200 series or approved equal), confirmation that Buy American Act applies to the bolted steel water tank, requirements for HDPE water main pipe with fused splicing, and clarification that the contractor is responsible for pressure testing and disinfection testing. The project includes a new 20,000-gallon tank that will be gravity fed from the well pump. The existing chlorine pump in the pumphouse will be retained. The government will consider alternative construction methods, including boring instead of trenching for the 500' open trench section, and "or equal" materials through the submittal process.
