About this file

This document is a Single Source Justification (Simplified Acquisition) for a TEEClean Automated TEE Probe Cleaner Disinfector system. The procurement involves multiple components including the main CS-TCD100S TEEClean Automated TEE Probe Cleaner Disinfector with TEEzyme Cleaner, along with accessories such as a high-level disinfectant, vapor management kit, enzymatic cleaner, Nephros water filters, starter kit, and web-based training. The total package includes a 1-year warranty and freight F.O.B. destination.

The justification emphasizes the system's unique capabilities, including automated probe cleaning, improved patient safety, and workflow optimization in a cardiology clinic setting. The document notes that the system addresses infrastructural limitations, fits within existing space constraints, and can potentially save the clinic an estimated $24,000 annually in lost procedure time. The contracting activity is 502 CONS, and the procurement is not a bridge action. The contracting officer has determined that only a single source is reasonably available, with cardiology staff committed to ongoing market research as the equipment is typically replaced every 3-6 years.

Furthermore, the integrated vapor management system enhances staff safety by minimizing exposure to chemical byproducts. Used in conjunction with the CS Medical Leakage Tester, the TEEClean system provides a comprehensive solution for cleaning, disinfecting, and leak testing TEE probes before each procedure, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of care. Critically, the TEEClean system addresses the clinic's infrastructural limitations. Its compact footprint (44.5" x 24" x 7.75") fits within the available space, and its cold-water operation aligns with the room's existing utilities. This in-house processing capability eliminates the current reliance on another department, saving the clinic an estimated $24,000 annually in lost procedure time. This integrated system also supports compliance with IAC leakage standards for TEE probes, further enhancing patient safety and regulatory compliance.
