About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for roof repairs to two cattle dipping vats in Zapata County, Texas, issued by the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service's Cattle Fever Tick Eradication Program (CFTEP). The project involves repairing storm-damaged roofs at Vat #9 and San Andres Vat, with specific requirements including removing existing roof supports, installing new 8" C channel iron cross supports, constructing new roofs (42' x 20' and 55' x 20' respectively), and painting the roof structures black. The solicitation is set aside for small businesses with an estimated project value between $25,000 and $100,000, using NAICS code 238160 and a small business size standard of $19 million.

The SOW details precise construction specifications, including roof dimensions, pole requirements, and installation guidelines. Contractors must verify measurements, submit weekly progress reports, ensure site cleanliness, and coordinate with USDA project managers. The project is part of CFTEP's broader mission to control cattle fever ticks that can negatively impact cattle businesses by infesting local ranches. Key project contacts include Contracting Officer Jim Roloff, CFTEP Director Don Herriott, and several field operations supervisors. The contract duration is limited to 60 days from the Notice to Proceed, with a minimum 14-day government review period for submissions.
