About this file
This is an AFMC Form 158 (Packaging Requirements document) for Purchase Instrument Number FD20602600012-00, Version 1, generated on 29 January 2026 by the 406 SCMS / GULAA office. The document establishes packaging and marking requirements for nine line items across multiple Packaging Requirement Class Numbers (PACRN).
The document mandates compliance with MIL-STD-129 Revision R and MIL-STD-2073-1 Revision E standards. A critical requirement addresses United Nations-implemented restrictions on wood packaging material (WPM) to prevent invasive species such as pinewood nematode. All wooden lumber, pallets, and containers must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Centigrade (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for 30 minutes, with certification/marking from an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) per International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) No. 15. All items must be packaged per MIL-STD-2073-1 with shipping and storage markings per MIL-STD-129, with additional marking and bar coding requirements including unit serial numbers, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) names, and OEM model numbers as specified on the AFMC Form 158. Serviceable shipping containers meeting AFMC Form 158 requirements shall be reclaimed, stored, and protected for reuse; unserviceable containers must be disposed of and replaced by the contractor. The packaging requirements vary by item, with some items designated as "MIL Long Line Packaging" with detailed unit pack specifications, while others require "No Packaging Available" or "No Packaging Data Required." The packaging specialist responsible for this document is Mario R. Carter (478-327-6316 / 497-6316).
