Contractor shall implement a phasing plan which will limit as much as possible the service interruptions and inconveniences . Works will comply with the sub-systems described in paragraph AC1-01b and shown in sheets M-2 and M-3.
It is therefore planned to close from time to time the occupied areas served by a subsystem, while the other areas will continue to operate, as follow:
9ASHE 21-1023 Rpr HVAC Fac. 1403 R1
Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3 Phase 4
Ground Floor, Zone 1 (AHU1) Ground Floor, Zone 2 (AHU2) First Floor, Zone 3 (AHU3) First Floor, Zone 4 (AHU4) and Zone 5
In order to limit service interruptions, the contractor shall verify on-site the feasibility of performing the partial work as described below:
For zones 1/2/3, once the AHU and its external air intake and exhaust fans have been renovated and the main channels have been cleaned, the system could be put back into operation by isolating one VAV cassette at a time and intervening on that equipment and on the equipment connected to it (post-heating coil, channels in low speeds and adjustment of that cassette). Once contractor has completed works on that cassette it may move on to the other VAV cassettes.
WORK PHASES
The HVAC system consists of 5 main sub-plants, of which 3 main and 2 secondaries. The first 3 sub-systems are very similar to each other by type (variable flow systems with recirculating VAV cassettes and post-heating coil), each belonging to a primary air AHU with variable flow rate.
The other 2 plants are different from the first in type and size. In particular, subservice no. 4 consists of an AHU with partial air recirculation, at constant flow rate, while subservice no. 5 consists of a direct expansion air conditioner of the ducted type. These sub-plants are restructured without changing their philosophy, but only by intervening by carrying out extraordinary maintenance of the equipment itself, cleaning of the channels and the reconstruction of the regulation and supervision systems. Another sub-plant, new, consists of a direct expansion and system ("dual split" type) serving a new conference room.
Phasing plan The "phases" of the intervention that aims to keep the facility operational at least partially during all the duration of the interventions, will inevitably have to respect these sub-systems. It is therefore planned to close the occupied areas served by a subsystem from time to time, while the other areas will continue to function (for the visualization of the areas, see the key-plans shown on sheet M-3. ).
Zone 1 During the operation on the AHU of Zone 1 (UTA-1) the HVAC system will not operate in any area served by the same sub-system. During the renovation of the UTA-1 it will be possible to simultaneously intervene on the OAF-1 external air intake and EF-1 ejection fans and on the sanitization of the supply and return channels, on the VAV cassettes and on the regulation system of each equipment and of the sub-system in general.
Zone 2/3/4/5/6 The same must be done for zones 2, 3, 4 and 5 and for the installation of the new HVAC system of the new conference room (dual split system).
Regulation and supervision systems As mentioned, the control systems will be installed during or immediately after the renovation of the equipment itself.
The supervision systems can be eventually realized at a later time.
Note: In purely theoretical terms, for zones 1/2/3, once the AHU and its external air intake and exhaust fans have been renovated and the main channels have been cleaned, the system could be put back into operation by isolating one VAV cassette at a time and intervening on that equipment and on the equipment connected to it (post-heating coil, channels in low speeds and adjustment of that cassette). Once you have intervened on that cassette you could move on to the other VAV cassettes. However, in this case, the intervention would be problematic (not being the balanced system) and would expand times and costs of the total intervention.
10ASHE 21-1023 Rpr HVAC Fac. 1403 R1
Prior to starting any work the Contractor shall submit a detailed Work Plan to be coordinated and discussed with facility users and to be finally approved by the Contracting Officer. In order to minimize funtions inconveniences, Contractor may be required to work during week end.
AC1-21 SALVAGEABLE MATERIALS: If applicable.
It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to remove salvageable items with maximum care to avoid any damages; and to transport them to the storage areas as indicated by the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative.
It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to provide containers for material disposal and/or transportation of the salvageable items. All discarded materials shall be transported to an authorized public dump site by the Regional and National Regulation according to the typology of the related material.
Transportation of discarded materials shall be extended, to an authorized dump site, even if the dump site is located outside the authority limits of the Aviano City Council Territory. Use of Base dumpsters is strictly prohibited for any type of waste.
The use of Aviano Air Base dumpsters is strictly prohibited for any type of waste.
