About this file
This Addendum No. 1 to Request for Quotation ARFQ 0608 DCR2600000017 addresses clarifications and specifications for a concrete pads project at Anthony Correctional Center and Jail. The project involves constructing concrete pads in multiple locations, including two extended day room areas behind female housing dorms. Key specifications include installation of six-gauge wire mesh with six-inch by six-inch square spacing within the concrete slabs, and proper grading with a one-quarter inch per one-foot slope away from buildings. The contractor must excavate four inches below existing ground level against the building and ensure the final concrete pad elevation does not exceed the existing building floor elevation. Bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid sign-in meeting, with bids due at 10:30 AM Eastern Standard Time on September 25.
The addendum clarifies material requirements by mandating that contractors remove existing #57 gravel on-site and provide new crush and run gravel instead, relocating the removed material outside the perimeter security fence behind the new Vocational Education building. The concrete pads must be sloped to prevent standing water, and the ground must be properly compacted after excavation and before concrete form installation. No pricing information, funding amounts, set-asides, or contract term details are specified in this addendum document.

CONCRETE PADS PROJECT
ANTHONY CORRECTIONAL CENTER AND JAIL
CONCRETE PADS 1 ADDENDUM
ADDENDUM NO. 1
Questions:
Q1: It says in the bid packet that we can use the crush and run that is on site for under the slabs. They have #57’s on site, not crush and run, which really cannot be compacted the way it needs to be compacted for the concrete slabs. Are you wanting us to still use the #57’s that are there, or are we to bring in all new crush and run for the project? This will make a bid difference in how each company will have to price this work.
A1: The contractor must remove the existing #57 gravel and provide new crush and run gravel. The contractor must relocate the #57 gravel outside the perimeter security fence behind the new Vocational Education building.
Q2: Do you have any specific specs as in size and gauge of the wire you want installed in the slabs?
A2: The contractor must provide six (6) gauge wire mesh with six (6”) inch by six (6”) inch squares spaces.
Clarifications:
C1: Please see the attached mandatory pre-bid sign-in sheet.
C2: For the two (2) extended day room areas behind female housing dorms concrete pads:
C2a) Replace specifications section 1.01(A), subsection 3(c) with the following: It is anticipated that the existing grade level of the ground is eight 8”) inches below the final grade level. Against the building, the contractor must excavate four (4") inches below the existing ground level. The contractor must slope the excavation one quarter (1/4”) inch per one (1’) foot in addition for the slope away from the building. After the excavation is completed, the contractor must compact the ground. After the ground has been compacted, the contractor must install the concrete forms.
C2b) Replace specifications section 1.01(A), subsection 3(h) with the following: The new concrete pads must be slopped one quarter (1/4”) inch per one (1’) foot away from the building and no standing water shall puddle on top of the new concrete pads.
C2c) The final concrete pad against the building cannot be higher than the existing building floor elevation.
